quarter two update 2021

MediaCast Team July 2021

HELLO and welcome back to the second season of MediaCast 2021 – better and more officially known as our second quarterly review of the year!

Being real though, we really should have our own reality TV show based off all the exciting developments that have been happening at MediaCast. Despite a few stints working from home due to some snap lockdowns, we are stronger than ever and conquering the media landscape one campaign at a time.

This is BRAND new information
This quarter, we delivered a wide range of campaigns across all channels of the media landscape including TV, radio, print, digital and even some social channels.

We are proud to announce we have completely smashed all our previous records and achieved more than 4,600 items of coverage and communicated our clients’ key messages to over 205 million Australians!

Not only this, but we are experiencing huge expansion as a company and have grown by 60% compared to last financial year. In fact, we’ve just surpassed our entire 2020 revenue in the first six months of 2021!

A new addition to our family
We are excited to share that the MediaCast team is growing and we have just welcomed our new team member from across the Tasman!

Jess joins us as an Account Executive and brings years of experience in journalism, writing and editing with her, and we are keen to watch her creative flair in action. Jess’ key responsibilities involve communicating with our clients, creating content for campaigns, and securing coverage for clients. As a passionate Tik Tok and Instagram connoisseur (and lowkey famous person), she has lots of experience reaching targeted audiences. Her bubbly personality, great sense of humour and witty one liners have already brought the office a boat load of laughs and we cannot wait to watch her thrive at MediaCast. Welcome Jess!

The more, the merrier!
At MediaCast, we are always continuously growing our client base and as a result have a wide range of wonderful clients that we work with. Over the last three months, we have expanded our portfolio overseas and added some international flavours to the mix. We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest clients, Koenig Solutions and Going Live TV.

Koenig Solutions joins us from India and is one of the leading IT training organisations in the world – they launched into Australia last year in the height of the pandemic. Koenig aims to create a more just and prosperous world through education and to maximise the impact of technology on humanity.

Going Live TV hails from the United Kingdom with the goal of bringing the world’s first virtual, interactive live pantomime to Australia. With a new twist on a classic tale, Cinderella, Aussie kids will be able to interact with the cast and the rest of the audience, in real time! We have many plans for our new clients so stay tuned for what we have in store, it’ll be sure to knock your socks off!

Our coverage highlights
The delivery team has been incredibly busy over the last few months securing coverage for our clients, achieving some incredible results. Some of our highlights include:
  • Securing the front cover of SmartDaily in The Courier Mail for home services franchise, Fantastic Services Group. This story highlighted how franchising can provide a better work-life balance for Australian Dads and aimed to boost franchise sales. The article syndicated to 16 publications including The Australian, The Daily Telegraph and The Herald Sun. It also won our Senior Account Executive Amy ‘Coverage of the Month’!
  • For our first-time client, Immunisation Coalition, we advocated for change in policy to give Australians the ability to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and flu shot simultaneously. This story achieved a massive 454 items of coverage, reached 31,368,106 million Australians and featured in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and on ABC NewsRadio. This campaign also resulted in the Australian Government lowering wait times between shots for 14 days to 7 days. Huge well done to Olivia for making change happen!
  • We shared Women Veteran’s United founder Anna Maria Lang’s story on sexual discrimination in the ADF which featured in The Courier Mail, Sky News and Ten News First.
  • Our story for Gidget Foundation aimed to raise awareness about perinatal anxiety in new parents being exacerbated by COVID-19 and inform new parents that there is help available at Gidget House facilities across NSW. The story featured in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Brisbane Times and WA Today.
  • We secured Studio 10 for Tourette Syndrome Awareness Week 2021 for our TSAA spokesperson, Conor Maysey. Conor’s interview was so impactful, he was personally invited by Dave Hughes to appear on the Hughesy, Ed and Erin show the next day which syndicated across the entire Hit Network!

Gotta stay informed about PR landscape
According to the State of PR 2021 Report, PR pros see tying PR activity to business outcomes as the top ways to increase value at their organisations.

The new data revealed that over half (52%) of agencies agreed implementing better technology would increase value inside their organisations. However, just under half (49%) use dedicated PR software to store media lists.

We were shocked to learn that only one quarter (24%) of PR pros say that they spend the highest amount of their PR budget on media databases.

With this in mind, enter BuzzHub!
We are excited to soon be launching our very own dedicated PR management software site, BuzzHub. This will be unveiled and available to communication teams and agencies at a later date this year, so watch this space!

It’s safe to say that we’ve had a very busy few months here at MediaCast but also incredibly rewarding. We have experienced some unprecedented growth and are excited about where the future will take us. Stay tuned for the next season, I’m sure it’ll be as thrilling as the previous ones!

Best Wishes,
The MediaCast Team.
